Our library, a.k.a. the Dempster-Wallace Memorial Library, was set up by the families of two climbers who fell off Eagle Ridge in Lochnagar and is currently kept in GBH.

The collection ranges from valuable (and fascinating) first edition mountaineering books to monthly copies (and backcopies) of Climber and High magazines. We also have a (supposedly!) full set of SMC Guides, SMC journals and Alpine Club journals, as well as some maps, our own old club journals and photos, and a wide selection of other books.

The library is especially useful for planning trips. Whether within the UK or to Greenland or the Himalayas, the EUMC library is guaranteed to have SOMETHING of use to you! The more time you spend investigating what's in the library, the more interesting books you find. So it's worth popping round to GBH anytime to see what we've got to offer. This year's GBH residents will be happy to help you find what you're looking for. Get in touch with them via the contact options on the Committee page.

If you borrow anything please bring it back!
